The storm is raging, the waves are towering before us like an apparently insurmountable mountain range. The force of nature appears to have our ship in its grip…
But then - in this apparently hopeless situation the pitch-black sky opens up, the sun breaks through the thick cloud cover. In our completely un-manoeuvrable state we are carried by the slowly abating waves to a mysterious isle. Where are we? AQUA MARINA it says on a rusty sign at the quay.
Ecstatic to have survived, we explore the dilapidated and weather-beaten port that lies before us. A colourful array of people from all manner of nationalities are milling about the narrow alleyways. Night falls, neon advertising flickers into life, we find all kinds of establishments side by side. Loud music finally draws us into a full-blown, port dive bar, sending us on a boozy, seemingly never-ending night!
AQUA MARINA – this remarkable raw port has cast its spell on us!
Visitors and exhibitors at the 17th edition of Design Attack are taken to a mysterious, previously undiscovered port. At the heart of the action is of course the harbour and a stranded sailing ship ravaged by the heavy seas.
The exhibition areas are part of this backdrop, in which the most diverse stores and establishments are to be found. All this is presided over by a dominant red-white lighthouse.
